Bridlington is to play host to a classic car show and auto-jumble – with vehicles from across the region on display at the town’s college.
East Riding College in Bridlington is to host its first auto-jumble and classic car show on Sunday 27th June, bringing much welcomed visitors to the town at the beginning of the next ‘unlocking’ phase. The College’s motor vehicle department have organised for a classic car show to take place at its St Mary’s Walk campus.
The event will help raise awareness of the expansive motor vehicle and engineering curriculum offer and give visitors a chance to see the College’s own facilities. The event is expected to attract enthusiasts from across the region to show classic cars and bikes – classified as vehicles over 20 years of age for this event.
Members of the public are invited to visit for free, there is no entry fee for visitors, and there will be catering and toilet facilities on site.
Alongside the classic car show there will also be an autojumble – a sale of car parts and accessories that can be extremely useful to any kind of car enthusiast. Autojumbles can be one of the only places to pick up parts and accessories that are no longer in production and second-hand vintage items.
Laura Shakespeare, Head of Curriculum for Engineering at the College said, “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors on campus again for this event, after a year of various stages of lockdown at the College. We wanted to host the car show and autojumble to help showcase the facilities we have at our Bridlington campus for motor vehicle and engineering. We have a fully equipped automotive engineering workshop, welding and fabrication, and specialist engineering facilities, including mechatronics. It takes over one whole wing of the St Mary’s Walk campus – we must be one of the best equipped colleges in the area for engineering and motor vehicle studies. Our expert tutors will be on hand to chat to visitors too.”
Gates open to the public at 11am. If you are interested in entering a car you must register through Eventbrite.
Autojumble stallholders are invited to pay £5 per pitch on the day.
