This Saturday, 18th April marks the start of something special for our community. Residents of Bridlington are coming together for the very first Community Clean Up Day on Tennyson Avenue — and everyone is invited to take part.

Whether it’s clearing out unwanted items from your front garden, finally getting rid of bulky waste, or simply lending a hand to brighten up the street, this is a chance to make a real difference where you live. A skip will be available for the day, kindly provided by A.Brunton Skip Hire, making it easier than ever to declutter and refresh the neighbourhood.

But the efforts don’t stop there.
Later the same day, volunteers will also begin transforming the boarded-up windows of the former Dulverton Court Hotel on Victoria Road. A simple mural will bring new life to the space, continuing from March’s successful project at the former St Kitts Home.
With more clean-up days planned in the coming months — focusing on areas highlighted by local police and the ASB team — the initiative aims to create lasting change across Bridlington.

Martyn Coltman from Brightening Up Bridlington (BUB) said: “This is about community pride, teamwork, and taking small steps together to create a cleaner, brighter town.
“So grab your gloves, bring your neighbours, and be part of something that truly makes a difference.”
