The Brightening Up Bridlington (BUB) group has successfully transformed Pembroke Gardens along the seafront, following a postponement last month due to inclement weather that halted their clean-up and painting efforts.

With the help of a dedicated team of extra volunteers, the group set to work applying a high-quality, weather-resistant stain to the benches, and within just two hours, the task was completed.
Passers-by were quick to express their appreciation for the improvements, with many stopping to share kind words about the revitalised area.

Special thanks are due to the Crown Decorating Centre at Bessingby Industrial Estate for providing excellent products and invaluable advice. Additionally, Lloyd at Ey-Up Coffee generously donated coffee for the volunteers, fuelling their efforts throughout the day.
An organiser explained, “Overall, it has been a fantastic community project. We also had two Wombles out picking litter at the Park & Ride site, which has unfortunately been plagued by debris blown in by recent winds.”
Looking ahead, the group plans to tackle South Cliff Gardens next month, weather permitting, and hopes to continue their mission of brightening up the community.
