Dog owners – who may not know where their four-legged friends are welcome when they visit Bridlington – now have a handy new guide to which businesses will welcome them inside.
Two Bridlington businesses – Have it Personalised based on Manor Street and Harley’s Interiors on Promenade – have partnered up to launch a new dog friendly project.

Andy and Cath Turner from Have it Personalised and Harley Cushion from Harley’s Interiors started the new Dog Friendly Places project a few weeks ago with a website built to help make it easier for visitors with their four-legged friends to find places to shop, eat, drink, play, travel and sleep. It also helps to promote businesses in the Bridlington area who are dog friendly.

Andy explained: “We both get asked pretty much everyday by people with dogs if we know where they can go so we came up with a very simple idea with a simple solution.”

The map shows different places with different coloured paw prints for each category.
Layers are selectable so if people are just looking for pubs for example, they can just choose that.

Visitors can access the map by scanning the QR code on the shop sticker which will take them to this page www.dogfriendlyplaces.uk/maps.
Businesses can access the service by registering and subscribing either by scanning the QR code on the stickers that appear in registered business shop windows or via the website.

“Those businesses that subscribe will be placed on the map and get a brightly coloured sticker for their shop window and an option of buying a starter pack of 250 business cards that they can either give to customers or to other businesses who might benefit from the service, which starts from less than 20p a week.” added Andy.
The project has already generated interest with many businesses registering and subscribing around Bridlington.
