Fundraisers from a Bridlington caravan park have raised a huge amount for charity.
Residents and staff at Fir Tree Park have been fundraising for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and raised an incredible £1485.23
Fundraising took place after Sue Bloodworth, manager of the park, lost her husband in June this year, aged just 48.
Everyone at the caravan park has taken part in the fundraising effort in memory of Jarad, which included a collection at his funeral, collection tins at the caravan park and a family fun day. To date, the full total raised is £2134.00.
Sue organised the fundraising in memory of Jarad due to his sudden death. Sue and Jarad had spent a well-earned break in Lanzarote and were due to fly home.
Tragically Jarad had taken his own life. After 33 years of being together, Sue had no idea just how poorly Jarad was.
She now feels that more people should open up and talk about their mental state of mind.
Sue said, “It’s been fantastic to see everyone getting involved in fundraising in memory of Jarad, and I’m so pleased we have been able to raise such a lot to support a charity that helps local people with their mental health, and encourages people to get the help they need”.

We know there are many people who are in need of support, and this donation will enable us to help more people in the local area.”
