Fire crews from Humberside Fire and Rescue were called out yesterday evening (4th December, 2024) after sparks were seen coming from the chimney of a Bridlington residence.
Firefighters were called at 7.26pm to St John Street in the old town area and used working at heights equipment, including a 10.5 metre ladder and a hose reel.
Damage was reported to the internal lining of the chimney.
Advice was given to the occupier to get a chimney sweep.
