The owners of a Bridlington Fish and Chip shop have given thanks to their neighbours and friends for their help and support after a fire severely damaged their business earlier today (3 November).
The owner of the popular Mnom Mnom Chish and Fips takeway on Bessingby Gate, West Hill in Bridlington wrote on the Echo Facebook site stating that they are all safe and well.
Owners Cliff and Judy said: “Just to let everyone know that myself and my family are all safe and well and we would like to say a massive thank you to the residents of West Hill for coming out to support us -you are all amazing.”
Firefighters were called to the premises this afternoon and engines attended form the nearby Bridlington Fire Station which is just over a third of a mile away.
According to a local resident ‘thick smoke was coming from the building.’
Extensive damage to the fish and chip shop and smoke damage to the living accommodation above the business has been reported by an eyewitness.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by friend and neighbour Sami Donison to help Cliff and Judy buy essentials items that may have been lost or damaged during the incident.
