Northern Powergrid are reporting that around 160 properties in the Bempton area have been affected by a power cut which took place earlier this morning.
This is impacting properties around the YO15 postcode area which affects Bempton and some of the surrounding area
The RSPB Centre on Cliff Lane has stated on social media that they still remain open, but the cafe is closed until the problem is resolved and they can only accept cash transactions.
Northern Powergrid have stated that they are expecting power to be restored around 5pm this afternoon (5 January).
