Residents are being invited to have their say on a series of improvements recently completed at Westgate Park in Bridlington’s Old Town.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has carried out the work using funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, following feedback gathered from local residents and park users.
Earlier consultations highlighted concerns that parts of the park became muddy and difficult to access, particularly during wet weather. People also raised concerns about poor lighting and a lack of seating within the popular green space.
In response, the council has installed a new hard-surface pathway, upgraded lighting and added new benches to help make the park more accessible, welcoming and safer for visitors.
The council is now seeking further feedback from those who use the park to find out how the improvements are working and whether they are meeting community needs.
A spokesperson for East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Prospering Places team said: “We are delighted to see these improvements completed at Westgate Park. The project was shaped by feedback from local residents and park users, and the new pathway, lighting and seating will help make the park a more enjoyable and accessible space for everyone. We would encourage people to share their views so we can understand the impact of the improvements and help inform any future enhancements.”
Residents can take part in the latest survey and help shape the future of the park.
