Residents are being encouraged to mark their calendars as plans are put in place for Bridlington’s annual Christmas Lights Switch-On.
The popular festive event will take place on Friday, November 27, 2026, when King Street is once again expected to be transformed into a hub of Christmas cheer as the town’s festive lights are illuminated.
Organisers are inviting families, friends and visitors from across the area to save the date and join in the celebrations. While the full programme for this year’s event has yet to be confirmed, further details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The switch-on has become one of the highlights of Bridlington’s festive calendar, attracting large crowds to the town centre each year.
Last year’s event proved particularly popular, with King Street packed with families enjoying live seasonal entertainment, festive displays and a welcoming community atmosphere. Volunteers also distributed free goodie bags to children attending the celebrations.
The event saw the then Mayor of Bridlington, Cllr Angela Walker, welcome Santa Claus to the stage alongside youngsters whose artwork featured in the Bridlington Town Council Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition.
This year’s switch-on promises to once again bring the community together as Bridlington prepares for the festive season.
Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on announcements from Bridlington Town Council for further information about the event programme and attractions.
