A dog walker has spoke of her horror after discovering what is thought to be an animal trap.
The lady, who didn’t want to be named, was walking her dogs in the woodlands at Danes Dyke near Flamborough and discovered the trap on Tuesday (16 November). She has warned other visitors to the beauty spot to be vigilant.

The trap which is understood to be called a Fenn Trap, was primed and is understood to be used for catching larger mammals such as rabbits
It has not been confirmed if the trap is illegal.

Another person stated on a local Facebook group:
“That’s absolutely shocking, a wild creature, a dog, even a child could have got trapped and injured. The place needs checking for more.”
When contacted by the Echo, ERYC who are responsible for the land at Danes Dyke, stated: they would urgently and thoroughly check the area in and around Danes Dyke and urged visitors to be vigilant.’
