The Coastal Services Team, which is part of ERYC, has urged those who are using the kids paddling pools and water channel areas for activities such as washing dogs, rinsing out fishing bait boxes and even cycling the water to desist.

A spokesperson for Coastal Services said: “The paddling pool is for children to play and have fun in.

“Recently we have become aware that people are using the pool and channels to wash sand off themselves and their dogs, rinse out bait boxes and fishing tackle, rinsing clothes and riding bikes.

“There are showers provided at the back of the pool for rinsing and washing off. Please help us keep it a safe and clean environment for children.” added the Spokesperson.
