Sewerby Hall and Gardens has now entered its winter period, which means free entry to the grounds until 27 October, and then again from 6 November until Friday, 22 March, 2024. (Charges will apply during the October half term holidays).
The gardens, Clock Tower Café and the zoo (where admission charges apply) are open daily. The house itself is open at weekends.
Visitors can download QR codes in the house, zoo, and gardens to hear talks by the education officer and the curator, and to see films, and hear talks by the zookeepers.
They can also download two free mobile apps: Love Exploring and What Was Here to follow games and trails during their visit.
This autumn will include special events at Sewerby Hall and Gardens : Scareoween will unlock its doors for those brave enough to enter the house nightly between Thursday, 26 October and Tuesday, 31 October, 2023 from 6pm.
This brand-new scare entertainment experience for brave families, friends and those who dare to enter will combine live performers and special effects to immerse guests in a walk -through living ghost story. Tickets are available now at https://sewerbyhall.co.uk/scareoween
During the half term holidays, ‘Spooky Sewerby’ will see a week of activities and events on a Halloween theme from 28 October until 5 November. Details of all events are on the Sewerby Hall and Gardens website.
Sewerby Winter Woodland will return from 8 – 22 December, with an all-new spectacular display of lights, sounds and special effects, to bring the grounds to life for a great evening out this festive season.
This year’s event will feature a new route and a new theme – a chance to embark on a Magical Christmas Rescue, along with a host of cheerful festive characters. Tickets must be bought online in advance and are available now on the Sewerby Hall and Gardens website.
