Acclaimed nature writer Philip Hoare, author of Leviathan, and The Whale, a previous winner of the UK’s biggest non-fiction award the Samuel Johnson Prize, will be holding a talk at the Living Seas Centre, Flamborough.

The first event on Friday 14 September will see Philip discussing his latest book, RISING TIDE FALLING STAR, which continues his exploration of oceans and shorelines around the world.

On Saturday 15th September, as the tide goes out, there will be a nature-writing themed family afternoon. The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Centre’s expert marine team will accompany participants on a ‘Seashore Safari’.

The safaris will be followed by a writing workshop for children (accompanied by an adult or guradian) led by Philip, giving them a chance to reflect on their experiences and to contribute words and pictures to a new exhibition at the Living Seas Centre.

Admission to both events is free, but spaces are limited.  Book on www.ywt.org.uk/events/
