A body has been found by local rescue teams who have been searching for a missing person over the last two days around the Flamborough Head area – between the lighthouse (Selwicks Bay) and South Landing.

A large scale search and rescue operation was launched on Tuesday with Flamborough and Bridlington inshore lifeboats, the Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter, the police aircraft, Bridlington Coastguard Rescue team and the police.

Sadly, this afternoon, a body was recovered by the RNLI and Coastguard rescue teams approximately 0.5 nautical miles east of South Landing.

Our condolences are with family and friends of the deceased at this distressing time.
