Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team in attendance as crowds gather…
A van driver had a lucky escape tonight (26 July) as his vehicle became stuck in the sands on Bridlington South Beach earlier this evening.
According to a witness who contacted the Echo, the vehicle was on the beach between Yorkshire Water station and the Belvedere promenade… but the wheels of the van became fast in the wet sand and the rising tide started to cover the axles of the vehicle.
The Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team were on also standby to oversee the recovery.
After a four-wheel drive vehicle failed to haul the van clear, a tractor saved the day by pulling it clear of the incoming tide.
