The two secondary schools in Bridlington have revealed their A’ Level results for 2026.
From Bridlington School.
Bridlington School has a really pleasing set of results including A/A* grades in art, craft and design, fine art, English Literature, Mathematics, Psychology and Criminology. Our Applied General results are in the top 1% nationally for pass or better with Distinction/Distinction* in Applied Law, Business, Music and Sport.

All of the students from Bridlington Sixth Form are onto their chosen pathways, whether it be university, higher apprenticeship, degree apprenticeship or employment. University remains the most popular option with 79% of students choosing this route. A quarter of those going down this route are going on to study at Russell Group universities including York, Durham and Nottingham.

Kate Parker-Randall, Headteacher said: “We are incredibly proud of all that our sixth form students have achieved this year. Their results reflect not only their hard work, resilience and determination, but also the dedication of our staff, who have supported them every step of the way. It has been a privilege to see our sixth form students grow both academically and personally during their time with us.

“As our students move on to university, apprenticeships, employment and other exciting opportunities, we wish them every success for the future. We are confident they will make a positive contribution to their communities and beyond.

“As a school we are proud to ‘Hand on the torch of life’ to another exceptional group of young people and look forward to celebrating their future achievements as Old Bridlingtonians. We congratulate every student on their accomplishments and wish them all the very best for the future.”

Katie Davidson, Head of Sixth Form said: “It has been a pleasure to see this group develop both academically and as people and achieve excellent outcomes.

They have represented the sixth form and school as sports leaders and prefects and have taken part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities including as senior cadets in our CCF and the Bridlington Medical and Health and Social Care Academy.

The qualities they have developed mean they will hit the ground running and fly in their next steps, whether it be university, apprenticeship or employment.”
From Headlands School
Students at Headlands School are celebrating today after achieving the school’s best-ever A-Level results post-Covid.

Mr Harah, Associate Assistant Head of 6th Form praised the cohort’s dedication, saying “today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our Year 13 students and to recognise the incredible journey they have been on. Their A-level results are a testament to their hard work, commitment and determination, but what makes us most proud is the resilience they have shown along the way.
“Every student has faced their own challenges, and each has continued to strive, grow and believe in what they can achieve. Today is about so much more than grades; it is about celebrating the young people they have become and the confidence, independence and character they have developed during their time in our Sixth Form.

“We are incredibly proud of every student and grateful to our dedicated staff and supportive families who have helped them reach this moment. Whatever path they choose next, we know they have the resilience, ambition and self-belief to make it a success. We wish them every happiness and success as they begin the next exciting chapter of their lives.”
Among the standout performers was Harry Thurlbeck, who achieved 3 Grade A’s and will now go on to study Physics at The University of York.
Two of our students have also secured our Headlands Scholarship – worth £30K each over the next three years. They are Priya Booth and Kelsie Atkin.

This scholarship is an amazing opportunity to secure funding for University Tuition Fees and enables students to complete their studies without this financial burden. In its 10th year, the difference the Headlands Scholarship makes is truly life changing and we look forward to hearing about the students’ journeys and future successes along the way.

We wish all of our Year 13 students every happiness and success for the future. They leave us not simply with qualifications, but with the resilience, ambition and self-belief to make a positive difference in the world. We cannot wait to see what they achieve next.
