A second year group at Headlands School have been told to isolate after a positive Covid-19 test was confirmed from a member of the school community in Year 11.
The news comes a week after all Year 9 students were also told to self-isolate after a positive test affected amongst one of the school members.
Headteacher Sarah Bone has contacted patents and carers of the year group concerned and also sent a letter of reassurance to the rest of the year groups.
The statement reads: ‘Following government and local authority guidance the affected person and their family have now started their isolation.’
‘We have also sent a letter to parents and carers of students in Year 11 telling them that they need to isolate for 10 days from when they last had contact with the person affected.’
‘Headlands School remains open to Year groups 7, 8, 10, & 6th Form and students should continue to attend if they remain well.’
‘We know that you may find this concerning and I would like to reassure you that our school is very careful to make sure everyone follows government and local authority guidance for cleaning and social distancing.’
