Bridlington, and the surrounding area, seems to have escaped the worst of the overnight snowfall that has covered many parts of the country.

Further afield, the A166 Driffield to York Road has been described as having ‘very difficult driving conditions.’

There have also been verified reports of Garrowby Hill been closed to vehicles, but this has yet to be confirmed.

One motorist told the Echo that it took him two hours to drive from Bridlington to Pockington – a trip that normally takes 45 minutes. He described driving conditions as very tricky – especially over higher ground.
