In what is now becoming an annual tradition, members and associate members of the Royal Naval Association (RNA) Bridlington Branch, along with their wives and partners, visited the Cleethorpes Branch for a delightful day of camaraderie.
Gathering at the Cleethorpes RNA’s club and bar, around 50 attendees enjoyed a hearty serving of refreshments, including fish and chips for lunch.
This social event has now become a staple in the calendar of both branches, fostering a sense of community among naval veterans and their families.
Adding to the festivities, both associations participated in presentations of Navy Rum, a time-honored naval tradition symbolising service.
The day was hailed as a resounding success, with members expressing their appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Cleethorpes Branch. “It’s always wonderful to gather with fellow members and enjoy each other’s company,” said Martin Jolly from the Bridlington Branch. “This event strengthens our bond and keeps the spirit of the Navy alive in our communities.”
Business Leader Victoria Barton said: “Ernest Brigham Funeral Directors recently demonstrated their commitment to community engagement by providing transportation for members of the Bridlington Royal Naval Association (RNA) to Cleethorpes.”

The gesture was warmly received by the veterans, who appreciated the opportunity to travel together in style and comfort.
Looking ahead, the Bridlington Branch is excited to reciprocate the hospitality, as they prepare to host the Cleethorpes Branch in the upcoming year.
