This new shop will be Dove House’s 35th store and part of a network of retail outlets which contribute vital income to the hospice. Dove House Hospice, which is based in Hull, provides care to adults living across the East Riding of Yorkshire, including Bridlington and the surrounding villages, who have progressive life limiting illnesses.

The hospice provides pain and symptom management, respite care and end of life care across a range of services including an Inpatient Unit, Outpatient Clinics, Therapies and Groups. The patient and their loved ones are at the centre of Dove House’s care which extends to supporting the family and offering bereavement services to the wider community.

Located within the Promenade Shopping Centre, the new shop will offer the same high standards and warm atmosphere as the rest of the Dove House shops across the region and will feature a diverse and stylish selection of clothing and homeware. With its central location and easy access to transport links, the shop promises a comfortable and convenient shopping experience.

Jennifer Rowan, Head of Retail at Dove House, hopes the community of Bridlington will support the new venture:

“We can’t wait to open the doors in Bridlington, our shops are more than retail spaces, they’re community hubs where people come together, build friendships, learn new skills, and contribute to meaningful work. We’re excited to be coming to Bridlington, and we cannot wait to meet the wonderful community, and raise vital funds so Dove House Hospice can continue to provide outstanding care for those in the local area.”

Dove House is also looking for volunteers to join the Bridlington team in a variety of roles. Photo: Echo Media Group.

Charlotte, whose dad was cared for at Dove House said:“Everyone at Dove House is truly amazing. Everything they do is incredible, despite how difficult their roles must be. They give such high levels of personalised care. We were so grateful for that care and so very thankful to have a place so wonderful local to Dad when we so desperately needed it”.

Dove House Hospice receives government funding to cover just 10% of its running costs, the remaining funds are generated through the support of the local community. Opening a shop in Bridlington deepens the charity’s connection with the vibrant coastal town which it already supports with its care services, and will provide local people a new way to support the hospice.

Dove House is also looking for volunteers to join the Bridlington team in a variety of roles, including sorting stock, customer service, visual merchandising and pricing and valuing donated items.

The new Dove House Hospice shop is located at Unit 11 of The Promenades Shopping Centre, Bridlington
