Flamborough resident Chrys Mellor, who was on the trip from Bridlington Harbour to Filey Bay and back, captured these stunning images from the deck of the Yorkshire Belle.

“We were on a Yorkshire Belle cruise to Filey Bay and I would say we saw around ten Bottlenose dolphins in total.”explained Chrys.
“They were swimming around and also under the boat – plus some more were spotted in the distance.
It is thought that the dolphins were part of a larger pod of around 30.

Several pods have of bottlenose dolphins been regularly spotted swimming up and down the east coast looking for food.
In late February a mother dolphin (known as a cow) and her baby (calf) were photographed in the seas to the foot of Bempton cliffs.
Aberdeen University are conducting an ongoing study into the much-loved sea mammals which have been congregating in and around the Moray Firth in Scotland for several years.

Added Chrys: “The reaction was amazing and there was some very happy people. “
