A breathtaking display of an estimated pod of around forty bottle-nose dolphins graced the waters of the Bay of Bridlington, creating a spectacle for all aboard the Heidi J fishing boat yesterday (Sunday 8th September).

Skipper Kit Gallagher spoke to the Echo about the awe-inspiring moment when two families along with their children on board witnessed these majestic creatures for the very first time.
One of the families told Skipper Gallagher that they had previously paid quite a lot of money for a dolphin-watching excursion in Spain, only to be left disappointed without a single sighting.

However, luck was on their side this time as the passengers on the Heidi J angling boat were treated to the sight of around 40 dolphins swimming in a pod, including two females with their calves.
The protective nature of mother dolphins was evident as they swam closely alongside their young, positioning themselves between the fishing boat and their offspring.

The passengers sett aside their fishing gear and marvelled at the beauty and grace of the marine mammals, creating a lasting memory of a truly unforgettable experience on the waters of the Bay of Bridlington.
