Man charged following incident in Bridlington

A man has been charged following reports of a man driving towards a pedestrian on Bessingby Gate in Bridlington on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.

Owen Shepherd, 25-years-old of Bessingby Gate in Bridlington has been charged with two counts of criminal damage, two counts of assault by beating, threats to kill, possession of a class B drug, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and dangerous driving. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday, 25 June 2026).

It was reported at around 7.10am, a man was seen to enter his vehicle and drive towards a pedestrian before leaving his car and punching the woman, who is believed to be known to him. It was then alleged he reversed into another vehicle before fleeing the scene.
