The third Paul Grainger Memorial football match took place at the Bridlington CYP in July thanks to the fantastic ongoing support of the players, helpers and sponsors.
Two teams who were close to Paul’s heart -Telegraph FC and AFC George – enjoyed a great day of football and friendship and helped raised further funds for the Paul Grainger Foundation.
Paul’s son Rafferty Grainger netted a hat-trick and played his part in two assists.The final score was 9 – 2 in favour of the Telegraph. Man-of-the-match was Daniel Smith for George and Rafferty Grainger for Telegraph.
Earlier in the day a junior match between Rangers Peacocks and Hull Costello ended in a creditable 4-4 draw.
Leanne Grainger was delighted with how the day had gone. She said: “Thank you to everyone who joined us in memory of Paul, it was a great day and lovely to see so many of you there. I would like to start with a big thank you to ABG international for kindly sponsoring the whole event.
“A special thank you to Bridlington CYP for hosting us, Jolly Jumpers for the inflatable slide, Jess Howarth, Busters ice-cream, and all the donations to the tombola stall.
“I would like to thank all the lads involved in the adult game and to Bridlington Rangers Peacocks and Costello FC for taking part in the junior game.
