A group of walkers will be treading the pathways around the Bridlington area in April to raise funds for a Bridlington community sports club.
The Proper Walkers group will be undertaking a 20.5 mile walk on Saturday 9th April, and participants who would like a long walk in the beautiful countryside are asked to contact the organisers so they can be registered.

The funds raised from the event will go to help with the running costs of the Bridlington Club for Young People (CYP), which is based on Gypsey Road.

Organisers Alistair Sweeney and Stuart Brown, who started the Proper Walkers group several years ago as a way to get fit and help with health and well- being, are hoping people will sign up to the event.

“We have finalised the route, issued the risk assessment, all that is left is to order the t-shirts or hoodies (depending on preference) and publish the attendee list.” the duo explained.
The walk will step off at the Manor Court Hotel at Carnaby who will be opening early for coffees from 6:30.am on the day.

“The walk has been named the Wolds Figure of 8 – and it starts and ends at Azzuro Pizza by the Coast (Manor Court at Carnaby) . We will be taking in Carnaby, Boynton, Rudston, Kilham, Harpam, Burton Agnes then back into Carnaby. It has many interesting and hidden points of interest that you may or may not be aware of. It is around 20 miles long, however we are splitting the walk into 3 sections in case anyone is not keen on doing the full 20 mile.”

“Please don’t forget that this walk is for charity as well as an appreciation of our countryside and well-being and every t-shirt or hoodie purchased will help support Bridlington CYP – so please, please help us support all the amazing work done by the team down at the CYP.” they added.
