A set of wonderful images of a pod of around six dolphins very close to Bridlington Harbour have been captured on camera by a local photographer earlier this morning (August 27).

Cameraman Kevin Groocock, who has had several fantastic nature images featured in the Echo in recent years, snapped this set of photos near to Bridlington Harbour showing bottle-nose dolphins enjoying themselves in the bay.

“What a delightful surprise.” explained Kevin.
“They were close in to Bridlington Harbour, a pod of Dolphins…I was in the right time, right place for once.
“I would say about six, but there could’ve been more.”
And the dolphins also delighted a small assembly of people who witnessed the frolicking and acrobatics of the pod very close to the harbour mouth.

“Several fishing boats left the harbour and immediately the dolphins began swimming in the bow waves.” explained Kevin to the Echo.
