Dozens of walkers took part in a 7.5 mile walk today (29th May) to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The event, organised by staff at a Bridlington estate agents, saw other businesses and individuals take part in the walk from Flamborough Lighthouse to the South side of Bridlington.
Tara Cummings, who is the branch manager at D. Dunk, Lewis & Graves based on Chapel Street, had been looking to organise a charity event last year, but the lockdown meant that plans were put on hold.
“We decided as a team, we need to be doing something for a chosen charity every year, and this year we chose the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.”said Tara.
“The route will be around 7.5 miles and we walked on the main road footpaths until we get to The Ship Inn at Sewerby where hosts Charlie and Lou Kilburn kindly provided refreshments.
The rest of the journey saw the walkers take the route along the cliff tops with the finish-line at the Park and Ride at Southcliff.
“We plan to do at least one more event later in the year, if not more, and our Sales Support manager Brogan and I will be joining the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for their charity parachute jump in September. I am delighted how involved the YAA are and that they are also joining us on the day.” added Tara.
Organisations that took part in the event or who have donated so far are: D.Dunk, Lewis & Graves, Murray Hill Solicitors, Pinkney Grunwell Solicitors, White Vinyl Media, Activebuisness, Marson Brothers Scarborough, Yorkshire Fleet, Malton.
The partners at D.Dunk, Lewis & Graves have also kindly agreed to donate £10 from each sale they complete from April and May.
