The votes have been counted and the winner of the Sewerby Hall/Bridlington Echo East Yorkshire Wildlife Competition is Kim Bone with her stunning image entitled ‘Flying Fox’.

The picture was one of twelve selected by independent judges for display in the Bluebell Wood in the grounds of Sewerby Hall & Gardens.
Each image was enlarged and displayed and members of the public were able to vote for their favourite picture.

Kim’s fabulous image of a fox running at full stretch, with all feet off the ground, received the most public votes overall and was declared the winner.
Said Kim: “I am delighted to have won. I took hundreds of images of that fox running and that was the shot I was looking for…It took me hours of visiting the site and then checking through the pictures I had taken.” explained Kim who lives at Nafferton.

Kim wins a £50 shopping voucher, a fabulous afternoon tea for two at Tiffin & Co, Market Place in the Old Town, a 16 x 20 inch canvas courtesy of the Bridlington Echo and a 12-month season pass to Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
The competition was held in conjunction with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year event.

An initial entry of over 150 images were whittled down to twelve finalists, which then went to the public vote.
Each of the winning entries for the Bluebell Wood showcase have already received tickets to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
The finalists will also receive the display photo that was on show at Sewerby. Finalists are asked to contact the visitor centre at the Hall to arrange collection.
