Filey Royal British Legion Branch is holding its Festival of Remembrance at Filey Methodist Church on Saturday 7th November at 4pm.

The afternoon of music, reflection and remembrance returns following the success of last year’s event. Performers include singer Julie Sinclair, piper David Leeman and Hunmanby Silver Band, which was formed in 1919 and is led by musical director Graham Walker. Community choirs Hunmanby Singing for Joy and Filey Singing for Pleasure will also take part.

The festival will remember those who have served, those who made the ultimate sacrifice and all those affected by conflict. Entry is free, but places are limited and everyone attending must have a ticket. Tickets can be collected from Filey Post Office or booked online by searching for Filey Royal British Legion at zeffy.com

Donations on the day will go towards the cost of the event and the RBL Poppy Appeal.

The branch will also hold a Remembrance Sunday Service at St Oswald’s Church on Sunday 8th November, followed by a short ceremony in Filey Memorial Gardens on Armistice Day, Wednesday 11th November. For more information on any of the events, call the branch on 07423 068724.
