A fundraising appeal has been launched to support a four-year-old Bridlington boy diagnosed with leukaemia, as his family faces the emotional and financial pressures of his treatment.
Noah Swinney has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy and numerous surgical procedures, requiring regular journeys to Leeds Hospital for specialist care.
His parents, Abbie and Kyle, have been travelling to and from the hospital as often as two or three times a week, placing a significant strain on the family’s finances and daily lives.
The couple also have two other children, aged 10 and three, whose care must be arranged when both parents need to be with Noah in hospital.
The fundraising campaign has been organised by Abbie’s best friend, Demi Bowers, who has known her since they were both four years old.
She described Abbie as someone with an exceptionally kind heart who would always go out of her way to help others, and said she and Kyle were devoted parents to their three children.
The appeal aims to ease the additional costs of Noah’s treatment, including hospital travel, food and drinks, medical supplies and activities or small treats to bring him happiness during difficult days. It also hopes to help the family maintain some normality while they concentrate on Noah’s recovery.
The organiser said every donation, however small, would make a difference, while sharing the appeal could also help reach more people.
