Illustrative artist Annette Rodgers has unveiled a new piece celebrating her childhood memories of Bridlington in the 1960s and 70s.
Annette, who grew up in the town and now lives in Nafferton, said she was inspired to complete the work following the death of her mother in September, with several subtle nods to her included in the painting.
The artwork also features a barrow boy in honour of her late brother, as well as much-loved local landmarks such as Ernest Whiteley’s shop, The Priory, The Spa, Old Town, Joyland Amusements, Flamborough Lighthouses and Notarianni’s Ice Cream parlour.
Annette says choosing which places to include was challenging but hopes the piece captures the true essence of Bridlington.
She is hoping to produce a series of prints from the original soon.
