Former members, leaders, families and supporters gathered at Bempton & Buckton Community Village Hall to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bempton Brownies at a special community event recently.

The celebration, organised by unit guider Maureen Burnell and her daughter Heather Patchett, welcomed guests from across the area to mark the milestone and look back on five decades of memories and achievements.

Visitors enjoyed refreshments and food while looking back at old film reels, photographs and recordings highlighting the Brownies’ long history and important role within village life.
Among those attending was Karen Palmer, East Yorkshire County Commissioner, who joined members past and present in celebrating the success and lasting impact of the group.

Over the years, the Brownies have played a significant part in the local community, providing opportunities, friendships and experiences for generations of young people.
