Walkers have been urged to be alert after two large land slips were reported on the East Riding coast.
One huge drop of soil and rocks, estimated at around ten to fifteen tons in weight, occurred near to the popular walkers route of Sewerby Steps, north of Bridlington. (Pictured).
The Sewerby Steps area has been particularly busy recently due to people taking their daily exercise during the second lockdown. It is also a well used route for dog walkers.
A spokesperson for the ERYC Coastal Services Team, said:
“In the past 48 hours we have had 2 reported landslips along the East Riding coast, one near Mappleton and another at Sewerby”
“Please remember to take care whilst walking along cliff tops, never get too close to the edge and do not walk directly under cliffs whilst enjoying a beach walk.”
