A Flamborough man is participating in the Millau Viaduct half marathon to raise funds for RNLI, the charity that is dedicated to saving lives at sea.
Ethan Kilburn, 24, who hails from Flamborough has a strong connection to Millau, which is twinned with Bridlington.

At the age of just 17, he pursued work experience there to kickstart his career as a chef.
Ethan’s father Charlie owns the Ship Inn in Sewerby, where Ethan now lives and works.
Ethan achieved his chef qualification at the age of 18 and spent his summer months working at the pub before venturing to France to work as a chef in the Alps during the winter ski season.

Upon returning home in May of this year, Ethan took up running and subsequently decided to sign up for the Millau Viaduct half marathon.
He chose to support Bridlington and Flamborough RNLI due to his family’s multigenerational involvement with lifeboats.

This included his late grandfather’s service as a coxswain of Flamborough lifeboat, for which he received bravery medals from Buckingham Palace.
Additionally, his uncle is a crew member at Bridlington.

Ethan has already raised over £500 in donations and is preparing for the marathon on Sunday.. Ethan would like to thank anyone who is considering to contributing to his fundraising endeavor.
