Bridlington lady Alice Brown has celebrated her 106th birthday… and she is thought to be the oldest living person in the town.

Alice celebrated her big day with a card from the King and Queen, cakes and visitors on the 17th June at her residential home – Aalia House – on Marshall Avenue.
And on the 23rd June, Alice was the centre of attention at the care home with a party which included her daughter June Ivens calling in along with her grandson visiting all the way from Australia, plus also another grandson visiting from nearby Driffield.

Despite her years, Alice is still very sprightly and can recite the alphabet backwards.
Alison Nyari who is the Manager at Aalia House said: “Alice told us it was the best day of her life and even enjoyed tipple of prosecco as well as her favourite drink – a hot cup of tea in a china cup.

“We had a total of 25 guests enjoying the party and it was a perfect day to celebrate a wonderful milestone for a lovely lady.”
Aalia House will be holding a Summer Fair and Open Day on 20th July running from 12noon to 4pm and visitors are more than welcome to look around and enjoy the stalls and refreshments.
