The blaze was spotted on Bempton Lane, near Bridlington, at 8pm, with Humberside Fire and Rescue quickly on the scene to bring the fire under control.

A spokesperson from the farm said: “If only you knew how hard we all work, and how tough and stressful it’s been this year with the awful weather maybe, just maybe, you would think twice!

“I hope you are proud of yourselves. If anyone saw them please tell the police.”

Firefighters have also been called out to a hay bale on fire at Brick Kiln Balk, near to Bessingby village at 9.36 pm last night, (9 August).

The fire and rescue service used hay drags and beaters to stop the spread of the fire and Police were also in attendance.
