Thousands of visitors flocked to Sewerby Cliff tops over the weekend as the 11th annual Bridlington Kite Festival returned to the East Coast in spectacular fashion.

Families gathered across Saturday and Sunday to watch the skies above Bridlington Bay filled with colourful kites of every shape and size, as the popular event once again proved to be one of the region’s biggest spring attractions.
Among the highlights were some of the world’s largest inflatable kites, including giant bears and twisting snakes, which soared high above the clifftops to the delight of spectators. The much-loved parachuting teddy bear drops also made a welcome return, drawing cheers from children lining the seafront.

Visitors had the chance to take part in supervised kite-flying sessions using loaned kites, while stalls offered a wide range of designs for enthusiasts keen to join in. Street food vendors, dessert stands, ice cream vans and fairground rides kept crowds entertained throughout the weekend.
Organised by East Riding Council in partnership with The Northern Kite Group, the free festival once again delivered a boost to the local economy and showcased Bridlington as a leading family-friendly destination.
