Volunteers from Bridlington RNLI joined the congregation at Bridlington Priory to mark the 153rd anniversary of the tragic events of the Great Gale on 10 February 1871.

The event, once again, was very well represented by parishioners and Bridlington RNLI volunteers.

The service was led by The Reverend Neil Bowler, who recalled the tragic events of that fateful day so long ago.

There were readings from RNLI volunteers Julie Smith and Anna Needham, along with a review of the past 12 months with the Rev Bowler and Station Coxswain, Steve Emmerson.

After the service, the congregation and RNLI volunteers attended the Great Gale memorial, where Steve Emmerson laid a wreath and further prayers were delivered by Rev Bowler.
