Filey Americana Festival returns from
Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September,
with a fourth show from Dean Owens
following on Thursday 17th.

The festival takes place at the Evron
Centre, John Street, Filey. Friday’s
opening night features Fire & Rain,
a Scarborough “supergroup” paying
tribute to James Taylor, performed by
Tom Townsend, Richard Adams, Bob
Walker, Mark Gordon, Paul Tilley and
Rowan Oliver. Saturday brings indie
folk artist Rachel Croft, described by
Atwood Magazine as “an emotive,
uncompromising artist at the top of her
game.”

Sunday closes the festival with
the Kristy Cox Band, an award-winning
Nashville bluegrass act, praised by
Bluegrass Today for “personal, heartfelt
and highly engaging songs.”

All three festival shows have doors at
7pm, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost
£16 per show, or £36 for all three,
available from Filey Post Office, by

On Thursday 17th September,
Scottish singer-songwriter Dean Owens
performs a solo show at Thirty Coffee
Shop & Eatery, Filey. Owens blends
Scottish roots with Americana, drawing
on influences from Italy, the American
desert states and industrial Scotland. His
latest album, Spirit Ridge, was recorded
in Italy with producer Don Antonio.
Mojo magazine praised his “dark
majesty”, while Rolling Stone called his
music “more intoxicating than the most
treacherous of mezcals.”

Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15, available online at www.deanowens.com/tour.
