A Bridlington author who is launching a new book this week has had to arrange a second event as the first one sold out.
Richard Jones announced the launch of his 21st book, A-Z of Bridlington, which is taking place at Bridlington Central Library this Thursday, 15th February at 3pm.

Said Richard: “The great news is that the event is so popular that the library is now at maximum capacity and this has led to the library taking steps to accommodate everybody who wants to go and arrange a second event two days later.

“For those who miss the first event, the one for all those on the reserve list or who cannot make the weekday one, there is the exact same event repeated on Saturday 17th February at 1pm, again at Bridlington Central Library on King Street.”
It’s a very busy time for Richard as on Thursday morning – 15th February he is hosting a double plaque unveiling at Bridlington railway station for the George Medal heroes Arthur Harrison and George Whitehurst.

On Friday afternoon he is also at another plaque unveiling for the sinking of HMT Othello in Grimsby (which sank with the Bridlington pleasure boat Yorkshire Belle in 1941).
Anybody who wants to come to the plaque unveilings can just turn up.

For those who want to attend the Saturday book launch event they must book a seat at the library by calling 01262 672917 or pop in and speak to the friendly staff.
