Thousands of people witnessed the surreal scene of a yacht that had run aground on Bridlington South Beach last night (June 27).
It appeared that the vessel had become stranded on the sands, below the Spa Royal Hall, the same time as thousands of music fans descended on the venue to watch the Rag ‘n’ Bone Man concert.
One onlooker told the Echo: “The boat was at the tide line, sideways on to the beach and I thought it was strange that a boat would be so near to shore. A few minutes later, with the tide going out, it was well and truly stranded.”
It is understood the boat was re-floated in the early hours of this morning as the tide came in.
