Two Bridlington women are preparing to take on an extraordinary endurance challenge in aid of Bridlington CYP and local netball.
Lianne and Tina will set off on 20 June to complete the North Yorkshire Ultra Challenge, an official 100km trek across some of the county’s toughest terrain. However, for the pair, crossing the finish line will not mark the end of their journey.

Instead, they will continue on foot for a further 37km, bringing their total distance to an incredible 137km before returning to where their story began – Bridlington CYP.
The challenge is deeply personal for both women. They say the support, encouragement and sense of belonging they received from Bridlington CYP helped change their lives and played a key role in making it possible for Soul, Tina’s daughter, and their vision of creating a local netball club to become a reality.
Now they want to give something back.
Funds raised through the challenge will be shared between the growing non-profit netball club and Bridlington CYP. The money will help purchase new equipment for the club while also supporting the CYP’s ongoing work with young people and community groups across the town.

The pair say the CYP is far more than a sports venue. It provides opportunities, friendship, guidance and a safe place for countless young people, and they hope their fundraising efforts will help ensure that support continues long into the future.
Residents are being encouraged to support the challenge by donating or sharing the fundraiser. A special welcome is also planned when the women return to Bridlington CYP at approximately 6pm on 20 June after completing their remarkable 137km journey.
Donations can be made through their GoFundMe page, helping them reach their fundraising goal and continue creating opportunities for local young people through sport and community activities.
