The traditional Bridlington Fair is set to make a full return to the town this October…but at a different venue.
The Yorkshire Section Showman’s Guid announced today in a notice to all Bridlington Fair tenants, that the event will be going ahead on a new site at Bridlington Caravan Centre on Bessingby Way.
The event will take place from
Wednesday 20th – Sunday 24th October 2021 inclusive.
The origins of the Bridlington Fair are steeped in history.
Last year, to keep the tradition alive, a single juvenile ride was brought to King Street in the town centre to fulfil the fair charter that dates back centuries.
Many of the rides and attractions come direct from Hull Fair, with many generations of families enjoying the more relaxed and family friendly atmosphere of the Bridlington event.
A spokesman for the Showman’s Guild said “This is a temporary solution for this year only as the council will not let us use the regular fairground site.”
Moorfield Road Car Park usually plays host to the fair, but this year it is being used for a Covid 19 testing centre for Bridlington and the surrounding area.
