By popular demand the next Bridlington Food Festival returns on Sunday August 20, with many more stalls booked in for the food-lovers event.
Thousands of visitors flocked to the first-ever Bridlington Food Festival – held on King Street last month – and such was the overwhelming success of the inaugural event that most traders had fully sold out of stock by early afternoon.

Organised by Angela Langton, who owns the Angela Bare chain of shops in Bridlington and York, the festival came from an idea that paid tribute to her late father who was also a market trader on King Street and where Angela helped out as a child.
Said Angela: “The first food market was very busy day lots of the stallholders sold out very early. I apologise if it wasn’t perfect but it was the busiest I have seen the market in a long time.
“We are now working to make the event bigger and better and already more stalls have confirmed and the second festival is now full.”

Bridlington Mayor Cllr John Arthur and his wife, Mayoress Diane, officially opened the event and he wished Angela and Bridlington Market Treasurer Julie Boyes well and thanked them for all their hard work in creating a new attraction for the town.
Because the first event had been so well received Angela has organised further food festivals on King Street, with the next one being held on Sunday August 20th.
Then monthly on September 24th, October 29th and another for November 19th (in conjunction with the Christmas lights switch-on).
