During her 2025/26 mayoral year, the Mayor of Bridlington, Councillor Angela Walker, alongside her Consort and husband Graham Walker, has raised a fantastic total of £ 6,467,42 for charities and community groups close to her heart.
Two organisations, New Pasture Lane Community Centre, which operates The Bread Shed, and the MND Association Yorkshire Coast, each received £3,000 to support future projects and ongoing community work. Both charities were chosen because of their personal importance to the Mayor.
A further £467.42 was shared between local theatre groups, Harbourside Theatre Group and The Spotlight Theatre, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the town’s cultural and community life.
Mayor Angela Walker said: “I was delighted to hand over the proceeds of my mayoral year to the groups. I would sincerely like to thank all the people who have donated and supported the charities. It goes to show the fantastic community spirit is thriving in Bridlington.”
