Bridlington came together on Sunday morning to honour the fallen at the town’s annual Remembrance Day Service, organised by Bridlington Town Council, with several veterans groups assisting with the parade and marshalling.
A crowd of around 1,500 people gathered at the War Memorial on Wellington Road for the service this morning (9 November).
The ceremony was led by Revd Neil Bowler from the Priory Church, with musical accompaniment provided by the East Riding Pipe Band and the Bridlington Excelsior Band.
A lone piper, Mr David Leeman, played a moving lament as wreaths were laid by representatives of the armed forces, emergency services, community groups and local schools.
Large numbers also took part in the parade, which made its way along part of Quay Road before assembling at the memorial. The march featured veterans, cadet forces, youth organisations and civic dignitaries, all showing their respect for those who gave their lives in conflict.
Following the service, residents were invited to Christchurch, where free tea and coffee were served in a Warm Space, offering a chance for quiet reflection and community togetherness.
Bridlington once again demonstrated its strong sense of remembrance, unity and gratitude to all who have served.
