The Land Sand Stone Art Festival returned to the East Yorkshire coast for a unique celebration of Bridlington’s coastline through creative connections to nature.
The festival, held over the weekend, was organised by Responsible Fishing UK and drew hundreds of participants and thousands of admiring glances.
Artists from all over the UK – and beyond – gathered together in the warm sunshine on the stunning North Beach to create some stunning beach art.
The theme of the first day on Saturday, 9 September was sand and stones and the beach was transformed with an artist’s showcase (giant spiral artwork), drop-in workshops, and a family beach art challenge.
Vistors joined artists James Brunt, James Craig Page, Jon Foreman, Sean Corcoran, Sandor Nagy, Winston Plowes, Arron Tieney and Laurence Winram and many more for an Open Stone Art Session.
Passers by could also watch artists creating new work and get tips and advice about creating temporary art in nature and had a chance to create their own art on the beach.
Yestetday, Sunday, 10 September, the theme of the day was land and the venue shifted Sewerby Hall and Gardens, where artists such as Richard Shilling, Julia Brooklyn and Mark Anthony Haden Ford created some unique displays.
Visitirs also joined the artists in the Gardens, for a range of activities including a woodland art trail, land art pick n mix and workshops.
