In a celebration of music and singing, the Bridlington vocal ensemble Hooked on Harmony is excited to announce their upcoming performance titled “SING Music from Stage and Screen.”

The choir, known for its harmonious blend of voices, has been preparing their repertoire since January this year, ready to share their passion for singing.

The evening promises an unforgettable showcase of dynamic choral arrangements, breathtaking harmonies and powerful solos that highlight the enchanting world of musical theatre and cinematic soundtracks.

Jasmin de Sylva from the group explained: “The unique energy of the choir will be on full display through dynamic arrangements that evoke inspiration, nostalgia, and the sheer beauty of vocal performance. We’ll also enhance the experience with visuals projected onto a screen, immersing the audience in both emotion and magic.”

The performance will take place at Emmanuel Church, located on Cardigan Road, on Saturday, 20th September, starting at 7:30 pm. Tickets are priced at £11 and can be purchased from Planetwise on Prospect Street or from the Hooked on Harmony website.

Visitors can look forward to soaring anthems from renowned shows such as Evita, Les Miserables, and The Greatest Showman, alongside lively numbers from Hairspray and Sister Act, as well as Disney songs. The evening will culminate with an interactive sing-along to Mamma Mia, inviting the audience to join in the fun.

For those who are unable to attend on Saturday, there is an additional show set for Friday, 19th September, at the Floral Hall in Hornsea. Tickets for this performance are also available from the venue or via the Hooked on Harmony website.

Hooked on Harmony is also thrilled to introduce a new initiative called ‘Harmony Sessions.’ This project aims to provide a welcoming space for women who have expressed interest in joining the choir but previously found it difficult to commit to a year-long schedule. The Harmony Sessions offer shorter, term-based programmes, making it more accessible for women to engage in the joys of singing.

The start of the Winter Term will commence on 29th September 2025, leading to a celebratory performance at the iconic Beverley Minster.

These sessions are designed to be enjoyable, pressure-free, and welcoming, with no auditions or memorisation of lyrics required. “We’ve heard from many who wish to join but can’t make a long-term commitment,” explained Jasmin. “With Harmony Sessions, we’re making it easier for women to experience the joy of singing, whether for a single term or more.”
