A spellbinding lantern parade is set to create a magical evening on Friday, 10 February with hundreds of participants are expected to take part in the evening procession.
THE PARADE STARTS AT BRIDLINGTON SPA AND WILL WALK SOUTH ON THE PROMENADE – BELOW SOUTH MARINE DRIVE

If you miss the parade on the Friday evening, the lanterns will be on display in Sessions at Bridlington Spa on Saturday 11 February from 10.00 – 4.00pm.

Some of the ornate lanterns which were on show during the annual parade in Old Town late last year will also be making an appearance under the direction of Joy Verda from the Alex May gallery.

The parade is inspired by the epic journey of Odysseus, following the construction of the mighty Trojan Horse inside the Spa Royal Hall last autumn.

Lanterns in the parade will carried by members of community groups from the Bridlington area and the public who chose to create one. It will walk southwards on the promenade from the Spa to the beach huts and back.

Expect to see a whole host of illuminated creatures on show, many inspired by the wildlife of the Yorkshire Coast.
The parade starts at 6.00pm, Friday 10 February on the promenade between Bridlington Spa and the RNLI Station. The event is free of charge and people are urged to come and view the spectacle.

Part of ‘The Odyssey – an Epic Adventure on the Yorkshire Coast’ is funded by the Yorkshire Coast BID.
